Chef Tony Pisconeri, the head baker of Bakewurx will be at the General Store Wednesday, March 26th for his pop-up bread shop. There is a limited supply of his homemade artisan sourdough breads so make sure to be the first in the door!

“Spring into the Kitchen” With Chef Lauri Grizzle at Woodbridge General Store
Chef Lauri Grizzle is teaching us to incorporate vibrant, seasonal ingredients into our meals.
We will learn to prepare “Cream of Asparagus Soup” topped with “Sauteed Leek-Parmesan Cheese Croutons”. Also on the menu is a salad of radish, sugar snap peas, and scallions on a bed of Little Gem Lettuce, topped with goat cheese and tossed in an herb-citrus vinaigrette.
For the main coarse, we are learning to make “Creamy Lemon Artichoke Chicken on Pappardelle Pasta”.
Chef Lauri will also demonstrate a “Roasted Strawberry and Farmer’s Cheese Puff Pastry” with mint syrup for dessert!

"A Night in Spain" with Chef Melissa Hass at Woodbridge General Store
Chef Melissa is taking us on a trip to Spain!
We will sample the dynamic flavors of Spain beginning with a miniature charcuterie board. While we enjoy our charcuterie boards, we will watch as Chef Melissa demonstrates bacon wrapped stuffed dates.
We will then travel to the vibrant community of València, the birthplace of our main dish- Paella! We will learn the secrets to preparing the perfect Classic Spanish Paella and taste its robust flavors.
For dessert we will balance sweet and citrus in our Blood Orange Olive Oil Cake!

Fundamentals of Pressure Canning with Brenda Hill at Woodbridge General Store
Pressure canning (not to be confused with pressure cooking) uses special equipment to process food at higher temps to prevent spoilage. Our favorite master jammer, Brenda Hill, will guide us through the science behind processing low acidity foods like meats, seafoods, & vegetables. She’ll also explain the safety aspects of using a pressure canner & eliminate the fears of using them.

"Introduction to Pie Crust" with Goodness Graceous Bakery Owner, Grace Brown-Pouncy at Woodbridge General Store
Grace Brown-Pouncy is the owner and sole baker of Goodness Graceous Baking.
A native to Georgia, she was first bit by the baking bug over a decade ago. After baking through cookbooks at home for many years, she then went on to work professionally in several notable Atlanta kitchens — Star Provisions, Bacchanalia, and Little Tart Bakeshop.
Goodness Graceous Baking began in spring 2020 as a way to get freshly baked pastries out to the community. It started with deliveries, but gradually turned focus to popups and porch pickups.
Grace currently juggles cottage baking while being a mama. She loves baking as a way to engage with community and has dreams for how it will grow down the road.
Grace will be teaching us all of the do’s and don’ts about pie crust! Whether you’re a pie expert, or just getting started… you will not want to miss this opportunity to learn and interact with fellow local bakers!

"Southern Supper" with Chef Lauri Grizzle at Woodbridge General Store
Chef Lauri Grizzle is warming our hearts with her cozy Southern Supper menu! You will not want to miss out on her secret recipes and learning her classic techniques during this four-course experience!
Learn to make "Roasted Red Pepper Soup with Pimento Cheese" topped with delicious biscuit crackers. The salad course will consist of a bed of arugula with "Quick Pickled Peaches", Vidalia onions, toasted pecans, and a ginger-mint vinaigrette.
For the main course, Chef Lauri is teaching us to make goat cheese fritters topped with grit-crusted chicken drizzled with a honey-orange glaze! The main course will also be served with “Sage Encrusted Petite Potatoes” and “Bacon Wrapped Maple Glazed Carrots”.
Dessert will consist of her special spin on creme brûlée! A black tea infused creme brûlée with “Lemony Croissant Brittle”.

We will be serving the New Year’s Specials along with our normal Lunch & Dinner Menus.
Grilled Ribeye (8oz) with roasted garlic chive potatoes & slow-cooked collard greens with bacon, molasses, cider vinegar, and a pinch of pepper flakes; $42.
Spicy Whiskey Chicken and Shrimp Pasta- Shrimp and chicken seared with butter, Cajun seasoning, and sweetened with brown sugar, mushrooms and onions, and deglazed with whiskey and chicken broth, tossed in linguine; $25.
Tofu For You- Fried tofu tossed in pesto over a bed of chopped broccoli, roasted almond slices and lemon orzo, garnished with a drizzle of balsamic glaze; $25.

Karon Warren is a longtime journalist who became a resident of the North Georgia Mountains more than 20 years ago. Her freelance work has appeared in AAA Carolina’s GO magazine, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, USA Today's 10Best, North Georgia Living, Georgia Connector, Best Life's Travelicious and other publications. Karon is a member of the American Society of Journalists and Authors and the American Society of Business Publication Editors.
Woodbridge General Store is so excited to host the author of “100 Things to do in the North Georgia Mountains Before you Die”, Karon Warren. Ms. Warren will be at the General Store between 12pm-2pm to discuss her book and sign copies!

“An Elegant Celtic Christmas” with Chef Judith McLoughlin (select for optional glass of wine)
Join Ireland's own "Shamrock and Peach" Chef Judith McLoughlin for an evening of elegance.
Chef Judith will teach us to prepare Celtic classics such as her shaved "Brussels Sprouts Salad" with bacon and a "Garlic Citrus Vinaigrette".
For the main course we will learn her techniques to make "Orange and Cranberry Chicken" with "Irish Potato Au Gratin" because one cannot visit Ireland without eating the best potatoes that you've her had!
Chef Judith will then prepare a traditional Scottish dish for dessert- her “Raspberry and White Chocolate Cranachan with Butter Shortbread”!

18th Annual Night of Lights Celebration and Parade
Join us on Main Street during the 18th Annual Night of Lights Celebration and Parade.
Presented by the Jasper Merchants Association:
This year’s parade theme is ‘Frosty the Snowman’ – children are encouraged to come out and visit with Santa Claus from 4:00-5:45 in front of the Pickens County Courthouse. There will be Vendors, Food, Music and Entertainment on the stage in front of the Courthouse. Festivities start at 2 pm; there will be a reading of The Christmas Story, live music from local school chorus; the Christmas Tree Lighting is at 6 pm, followed immediately by the start of the parade.
Please bring a new, unwrapped gift to donate to Toys for Tots.

Family-Style Thanksgiving Feast at Woodbridge Tavern
